Happy almost Valentine’s day beauty babes! If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge fan of holidays. Whether it’s Thanksgiving, The Fourth of July, Super Bowl Sunday (yes, it’s a holiday IMO) or Valentine’s Day I’m all for the festivities!
So, for Valentine’s Day I wanted to share with you this soft and flirty look that’s perfect for a date night or for a Galentine’s party.
Before starting this look, I cleansed and moisturized my face. I like for my moisturizer to completely dry before applying any other products, so I usually wait 15-30 minutes.
I started this look with my absolute favorite primer, Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer. This primer fills in my pores (without clogging them), helps even out any texture, and mattifies my skin. It gives your skin such a flawless look, and the perfect base for some foundation.
The next step I took was to apply some foundation. Now for me, I don’t like a really full coverage foundation, because I just don’t like how it feels on my skin. So, I use Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation, it has a light to medium coverage when I use one pump. I love how this looks and feels on my skin and I prefer it over high-end foundations!
I applied this foundation with my favorite foundation brush, Tarte The Buffer Airbrush Finish Foundation Brush. The brush hair is dense, and applies foundation flawlessly!
Then I applied my most favorite concealer, Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer, this stuff literally works magic for my dark circles.
The next step I took was to set my foundation with some powder. I take this step so I don’t get oily throughout the day. I used Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Powder. I also like to apply powder because I feel like it helps other powder products apply evenly, so it’s not grabbing on to certain spots of the face that are still tacky from foundation.
After applying powder I go in with my favorite bronzer, Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer, and the blush in the It Cosmetics Your Most Beautiful You Face Palette. Then I apply Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight 01 to the tops of my cheek bones. I prefer a more natural looking highlight and this is the perfect “glow from within” highlight.
To prime my eyes for eyeshadow I applied some Tarte Shape Tape to the lid, blended it out with my finger and set it with some of my Maybelline Fit Me! Powder.
For eyeshadow I used one of my favorite palettes, Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette, the shadows blend beautifully and there’s a great selection of neutral, cool and warm colors.
I started by applying the shade “caregiver” all over my lid. Then I used a big fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply “natural beauty” in my crease. After that, I picked up the shade “bestfriend” (which is the darker purple shade next to “natural beauty”) with a smaller, more dense eyeshadow brush, and applied it to the outer corner of my eyelid. Once I was able to build up the color enough I grabbed a big fluffy brush and blended all of the shades, so there were no harsh lines. Then, I used a small angled brush to apply “bombshell” to my upper lash line. On my bottom lash line, I mixed “natural beauty” and “bestfriend” and blended it out.
To finish off the look, I applied Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero to the water line of my upper lid. I do this so my lashes appear fuller. Then, I applied a hefty coat of L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara in Carbon Black. I honestly like this mascara better than Too Faced Better Than Sex! Next are brows, I religiously use the ABH Brow Definer in Taupe, if you have smaller or more sparse brows I would recommend the ABH Brow Wiz. For the lips I chose ColourPop Lippie Stix in Lumiere, it’s a beautiful dusty mauve shade. The final step is to spritz your face with some D.I.Y. Facial Spray!!
I hope you like this look!
